About the project
Once is a hand-painted journey through the quiet poetry of an ordinary human life. Told largely without dialogue, the film unfolds in a series of watercolor and pencil vignettes — from conception and birth to childhood wonder, first love, family, aging, and eventual return to stillness.
Through shifting light, changing color palettes, and the textures of time — toys forgotten, homes weathered, hands wrinkled — Once explores how every fleeting moment shapes a lifetime. Its gentle folk and piano score, paired with silence and sound, transforms the simplest gestures into symbols of memory and meaning.
A meditation on love, loss, and the beauty of impermanence, Once reminds us that every life, no matter how small or ordinary, is an echo of something eternal.
